Community Leaders Round Table
The Argonne National Laboratory/U.S. Department of Energy Community Leaders Round Table provides an informal and convenient forum for sharing information about Argonne plans and activities with its neighbors. Founded in 1996, the round table consists of citizens with constituencies from communities around Argonne’s site southwest of Chicago. Members include elected officials on the village, city, township, count and state levels; persons appointed to lead school districts, environmental boards and other government agencies; and officers of labor unions and home owners associations.
The members present at each meeting select the topic of the next session. Meetings are generally held quarterly, though members can request a session about developments at the laboratory at any time. Meeting topics over the years have kept tabs on environmental developments, projects being planned at the laboratory, and the latest scientific and technological discoveries made by Argonne scientists and engineers.
