DOE EPSCoR announces its intent to post a funding opportunity announcement (FOA) for EPSCoR Implementation Grants. The FOA will likely be posted in February. The content of the FOA is anticipated to include:

  • A requirement for letters of intent (LOIs) from prospective applicants. As in previous DOE EPSCoR Implementation Grant FOAs only one application (and one LOI) would be accepted from each EPSCoR jurisdiction. Each LOI would need to be accompanied by an endorsement from their state or jurisdiction EPSCoR Committee or its designee. The respective EPSCoR Committees or their designees would be responsible for the selection of the applicant from that jurisdiction.
  • Subject to availability of funds, an anticipated maximum award size of $2.5M per year and an anticipated minimum award size of $1.0M per year for a project period of up to three years with the possibility of one renewal for a project period of up to three years. Again, subject to availability of funds, up to three awards may result from the FOA.
  • A list of eligible EPSCoR jurisdictions, based on NSF EPSCoR determinations, can be found on the DOE EPSCoR web site at: http://science.energy.gov/bes/epscor/
  • Awards recommendations are planned for June 2014; deadlines for LOIs and full proposals will be established to meet the projected award date. Details will be in the FOA.
