Computational Research & Theory Facility:

The UC funded CRT facility is nearing completion. Current activities include power distribution cabling for High Performance Computing, construction of the north entrance stairway and north and east access roads, mechanical equipment startup and building finishes. The first computer system in this new energy efficient, 150,000 gsf facility is scheduled to be operational by September 2015.

Solar Energy Research Center:

Construction contract substantial completion was achieved on January 30, 2015. Correction of punchlist items and final commissioning of building systems is underway. Interior fit-up work is also in progress.

Old Town Demolition:

The demolition subcontractor has begun preparation of project-specific work programs, plans, and procedures. The demolition subcontractor is expected to be issued a Notice to Proceed (NTP) in April 2015 following completion of requisite documents. Initial field work following the NTP will include setup of site boundary fencing, completion of characterization of building materials, and collection of universal waste materials for disposal. Deactivation and isolation of remaining utilities (excluding fire protection systems), and abatement of hazardous materials (e.g., asbestos, lead) will be performed thereafter.

Seismic Phase 2:
Bldg. 33 General Purpose Laboratory:

Substantial completion of building construction occurred in April 2014 and CD-4 was achieved in August 2014. Interior fit-up work is in progress on all floors.
