Reactors: For his role in writing the first authoritative book on nuclear reactor theory; for major contributions to the development of many reactors including the Homogeneous Reactor Test, the Consolidated Edison Thorium Reactor, and the power plan of the N. S. Savannah; and for his invention of the ingenious principle for the Spectral Shift Control Reactor.
