How to Apply

National Science Foundation (NSF) Supported Internships

  • Students applying for consideration through the National Science Foundation (NSF) funding opportunity must fulfill all CCI Program eligibility and application requirements.
  • NSF sponsored applicants must indicate in the application system that their application is being made under an NSF funded program, using the pull down menu of participating NSF programs, and include the university/college Principal Investigator (PI) contact information in the application system.
  • Applicants who are applying through an eligible NSF program should inform the PI at their university in advance. Upon receiving an internship offer from a DOE laboratory, the PI will be responsible for submitting an application for supplemental funding directly to NSF before their proposal deadline [March 5, 2013 for the 2013 Summer CCI term]. The applicant’s CCI internship appointment may depend on the PI’s successful submission of the proposal for supplemental funding before the NSF deadline.
  • More information about eligible NSF programs and the NSF process can be found at http://www.nsf.gov/pubs/2010/nsf10019/nsf10019.jspExternal link.
