Laboratory Equipment Donation Program (LEDP)

The Laboratory Equipment Donation Program (LEDP) provides excess laboratory equipment to faculty at non-profit research institutions and post-secondary educational institutions. Through the Energy Asset Disposal System, DOE sites identify excess equipment and colleges and universities can then search for equipment of interest and apply via the website. The equipment is free, but the receiving institution pays for shipping costs.

The LEDP primary equipment donation website and application system is being migrated. Donation application transactions for equipment made available on or before February 8 are handled on the current LEDP site here, while donation application transactions for equipment made available on or after February 9 are handled on the new LEDP site hereExternal link. Please consider bookmarking the NEW LEDP site now (https://apps.orau.gov/ledp/External link)

Summary of changes:

Current LEDP

  • Until March 10, for equipment made available on or before February 8 (or as long as equipment lasts), applicants may continue to submit applications here.
  • Equipment listed on or after February 9 appears at the NEW LEDPExternal link site
  • On March 11, users will be redirected to the NEW LEDPExternal link, and LEDP will no longer be available here

New LEDP

  • Users may visit the NEW LEDPExternal link, and view the list of equipment made available on or after February 9
  • Eligible applicants may submit applications
  • On March 11, this becomes the official LEDPExternal link site (and the former site will redirect all traffic)
